History of Grants To You

Paul Baskin founded Grants To You (formerly Grants For You) in 2001 in order to utilize the untapped talent and availability of local citizens who want to volunteer to help their favorite, local nonprofit with their never ending quest for funds by assisting them with their grant research and writing. Since that time, hundreds of our volunteer graduates have helped to win millions of dollars for local agencies they have selected. Grants To You is a nonprofit corporation in good standing in the State of Arizona under the name The Lifespan Foundation dba Grants To You. GTU chapters operate independently under the guidelines provided during their formation process. Each chapter is encouraged to form an Advisory Council made up of local citizens who have an interest in supporting GTU and its nonprofit activities.

Vision

Imagine a world in which nonprofits have ready access to well trained and motivated volunteers to assist them in their grant research and writing efforts. Consider the community impact of agencies having fully funded programs that would improve the quality of life for all citizens.

Mission

Grants To You is a nonprofit,501c3 that provides both live and online training in grant research and writing to volunteers who want to assist their designated nonprofit in acquiring grant funding. Graduates obtain Certificates of Completion and earn Community Service credits.

Goals

  • Continue to expand the number of GTU locations throughout the United States that will provide volunteer grant training by offering local grant writing workshops.

  • Expand funds development efforts including grants; identify GTU volunteer graduates and advisory council members who would like to help. Utilize such funding in order to upgrade the GTU WEB Site and to add additional online classes to support local nonprofit agencies.

  • Provide more effective support to new GTU Area Coordinators who are implementing grant writing and researach training for local volunteers.

  • Implement more effective ways to get new locations off and running. Create a new Area Greeting Package.

  • Expand marketing efforts to enable us to establish more locations and hype our newly launched online grants class.

  • Grow the Board of Directors of Grants To You to include members who reside outside the Arizona area.
